Greetings to you in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a beautiful morning after yesterday’s snowy weather…the sunshine on that sparkling snow is like icing on the cake! …and this is a custom-designed day from Father! Yahoo! This is the last day of February…wow! time marches relentlessly forward…so we must make the most of every opportunity to finish it well. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to assist you in “redeeming the time” as you walk with him today – may you arrive at the end of this day-month at peace and with eagerness for a new month.
Yesterday morning as I was doing my devotions the words on my ‘Devotional Day Planner’ really challenged me, and I know that many of you could have read the words, so I will simply remind you: A recent survey shows a shocking lack of Bible reading among Christians here in Canada–and it is in decline This decline has a negative impact on how Christians live their lives.God knew there would be a spiritual battle over reading His Word. Joshua recognized the tie between the reading of God’s Word and success in life ( read: Joshua 1:8 ). Believers simply cannot walk in victory without time in God’s Word each day. – Draw Near, February 27th, 2019.
As I pondered the implications of that statement I recalled a moment in my Christian adventure when things were extremely difficult and a scripture passage turned my life around–I got the victory! The passage was addressing the Hebrew boys being put in the furnace…their declaration was…”our God will deliver us–and even if He doesn’t we won’t stop believing in Him!” I was challenged then as I have been many times since – God can be trusted even when things are not going my way! Now, just so I wouldn’t forget that truth, God put it in my devotional reading today…and the reading added the message God sent the writer of the devotion…“Rise above it. Quit fighting. Quit trying to changes things that only I can change!” – Joel Osteen.
It is with great delight that I say to you…every day that I take time to read God’s Word, and I don’t miss many, there is a truth that infiltrates the day’s activities and makes me aware that God is there and He is in control! and that is enough to give me “victory!” It is a shepherd boy that I know who made a similar declaration: You prepare a table before (by feeding me Your Words) in the presence of mine enemies (doubts, fears, concerns) and my cup overflows (I have victory!).
Just a few thoughts to ponder…be blessed!
