Greetings to you in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a beautiful snowy day…it must be a Wednesday! However it is still a day that God has carefully designed and will orchestrate to bring purpose to our lives…let us rejoice in that truth before the day gets going so fast that we forget! Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to reveal Himself to you in a way that you will understand and in a way that will allow you to respond
This morning I find myself drawn to one of God’s promises: God sees not as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7 and because He does the manifestation of His presence comes to each of us according to what He sees in us and/or what He wants to see in us.
One thing that is so powerful in my thinking is that as God sees us, He allows us to see Him. I believe that is wy the theme in my heart for 2019 is to seek the face of God…and in seeking His face I make myself seen to Him and to myself and to others. According to scripture record, every person who has the opportunity to experience a “face to face” with God is affected in a unique manner…Moses gets to see a burning bush and has to take off his sandals. Paul sees a blinding light that knocks him of his horse. Thomas gets to see and touch the wounds of Jesus. Jacob finds himself in a divine WWE wrestling match. Peter gets to participate in a heavenly smorgasbord laid out on a sheet.
It seems to me that there is a common thread…it is nearly impossible to encounter the presence of God and then continue to live life the way it was. The presence of God has transformative power – is your adventure in seeing His face…His presence – changed you? Now consider this…if you won’t allow or accept or surrender to change – the transformation, does that mean you are resisting a “face to face” with God?
A little something to ponder…be blessed!
