Happy August 1st ! Greetings to you in the name of the one …”who thoroughly searches the most secret thought and innermost being” (Revelation 2:23 TPT), Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! Another one of those days – “a given day” – that He has designed for us so that we might give Him praise. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to release you from anything that might stand in your way of really enjoying victory in Jesus.
This is – Have a Free Song Wednesday! – and so I am listening to a song called – “Everyday” by Tom Smith. It has a very simple chorus: Everyday I need You, Jesus – You are the Saviour – You are the Healer -You’ll always be. Perhaps it is the simplicity of the words and melody that engages with my spirit…for there are days when I don’t need complicated, just simple and sue and positive.
As I listen to this song, I am pondering over two quotations that found their way into my reading this morning. First, there is this one from that famous writer…’anonymous’: Make time to savour little glimpses of God’s goodness and majesty. The second one comes from Richard Foster, a great and gentle Christian thinker: We discover God in our waiting. The writer clarifies that idea when he suggests that some of our best waiting occurs in grocery store line-ups, doctor’s waiting rooms, in the car as you spouse is going to be there in ‘just a minute’, and at traffic lights.
I have an idea…why don’t you and I – and why not today…savour a little glimpse of God’s goodness and majesty or discover God in the grocery store or Tim Horton’s as we are waiting in line. What a way to start a new month!
May God bless you today!
