A Church with a Heart for our Community

May 29th Tuesday

Greetings to you in the name of the One who longs to open blind eyes and unstop deaf ears, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! I trust that you enjoyed your weekend and Monday – the people you met, the things you experienced, the grace & mercy you received, and the love that surrounded you. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to cover you with the ‘shade’ of His presence and to refresh you with streams of ‘living water’.

Friday was new song release – a grand day indeed! This time it was a ‘country album’ that caught my attention and in particular a song entitled: He Found God That Way. I suppose that one of the things I enjoy about music is that God uses all genres to communicate with listening hearts.

However I am still being challenged by a song I referenced last week – “Bring An Awakening” by Dustin Smith. As many of you know I belong to a prayer group that has been praying together once a week fro the last eleven years. The main focus of our prayers are on “revival” within the church. As I pondered and sang along with the song – Bring An Awakening … God has been pointing out that an ‘awakening’ is not a ‘revival’. Because of that I have been prompted to find definitions for words that I had been using interchangeably … you see, a song is never just a song, it is a ticket to begin a journey to parts unknown.

In the song there is a refrain that challenges me…We call out to the broken-We cry out for the hopeless-Commanding those in darkness-Come awake, come awake-We liberate the captive-We activate the passive-We scream out to the masses-Come awake, come awake. Will you join me today…this week, asking God to ‘bring an awakening’.

Have a grand day – be blessed!
