A Church with a Heart for our Community

March 31st Friday

Greetings to you on this last day of March 2017 ! May the One who is the “Lifter of our heads” encourage you and bring joy to your heart. Did you see the March lion sneaking around trying to ‘dampen’ your spirit and ‘blow’ you off-course? We must be careful to put him in his place as we praise God for the day He has made! I trust that you have had a good week and that you experienced God’s surprising interventions many times. This is going to be an amazing weekend in the Kingdom – answered prayers, divine appointments, good fellowship, powerful worship, and serendipitys. Today I will be praying for, asking Father to overwhelm you with fresh insights and new experiences of his love and grace.

Earlier in the week I was reading about  and looking at images of events taking place in the California desert region and in Death Valley. There are areas that are receiving rain for the first time in 10-20 years and there is a super bloom of spring flowers like has not been seen in over a decade. It is rather remarkable. I was not able to dismiss them from my mind and I remember a song on a CD. It was Benny Hinn – reading from Isaiah 35:1,2 and then the words: Holy Spirit thou art welcome in this place…   I had a sense that God was trying to tell me something significant. It has been 10 years now that we have been praying on Monday noon hours for revival and lately one of the heart-cry prayers has been for God to send the ‘rain’ of the Holy Spirit.

So I am going to go out on a limb or step out of the boat and give you these words: The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom. Like the crocus, it will burst into bloom, it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the splendor of Carmel and Sharon; they will see the glory of the Lord, the splendor of our God…Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.” … Isaiah 35:1-4 NIV.  I would encourage you to get your Bible out and read all of Isaiah 35, there are some powerful words and images…a highway of holiness for those who are walking in that Way … entering Zion with singing … overtaken by joy … and sorrow and sighing fleeing away.

Perhaps the reason God brought to my attention the reports about rain and a super bloom in the desert was to encourage and prepare me for what is coming to the desert area around me. Something to consider — okay, okay – I believe and declare…spiritual rain and a super bloom are coming to our city and county!

Have a blessed weekend – get ready!
