Greetings to you in the powerful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! I trust that all is well with you and your family…health, strength, and happy hearts. Our Lenten journey continues bringing us another week closer to Easter – I have been praying that God would draw nigh unto you as you draw nigh unto Him and that He would reveal new insights to you about His purpose and plans for your life.
We continue to gather Monday noon hours to pray for our city and local territory. The prayers can touch many areas as God allows our concerns to be revealed and defined. We often pray for the Christian community, asking for God to create a unity…a harmony. We do this because of an awareness that we stand on the edge of a divine revival fire that is quietly, and sometimes not so quietly, moving around the world…and we want to be part of it.
Recently in my morning reading of Proverbs, God drew my attention to how important it is to pray for the Christian community. Let me give you a few verses to ponder: The blessing that rests on the righteous releases strength and favor to the entire city…The blessing of favor resting upon the righteous influences a city to lift it higher…Proverbs 11:10a, 11a TPT — It’s as easy for God to steer a king’s heart for his purposes as it is for him to direct the course of a stream…A warrior (prayer-warrior) filled with wisdom ascends into the high place and releases regional breakthrough, bringing down the strongholds of the mighty….Proverbs 21:1,22 TPT. God, I believe, wants to touch our city – to bless it, to prosper it, to transform it. There are ‘strongholds’ in our city … drugs, homelessness, unemployment – to name a few, that must come down.
I believe that God wants the Christian community – “the church” – to partner with Him – so we will continue to pray for revival and renewal and “restoration” – will you pray with us?
Have a blessed weekend!
