Greetings to you – redeemed, restored, and anointed by Almighty God – in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ…THE Risen Saviour! What an interesting day the Lord has made for us – we will rejoice and be glad in it! I trust that you had a good long weekend and enjoyed all that God brought your way…especially the people you interacted with. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to release health, strength, and a happy heart…and to reveal his purposes to you.
Over the last month or so I have been reading from the book of Exodus and have spent time looking at the journey of God’s people from the Red Sea to the Promised Land. I find an insightful parallel between what was happening then and what we are facing in our lives at this moment. If you remember they left Egypt only to face the Red Sea…that is, they left ‘normal’ only to contend with a ‘new normal’ – although they did not know what that would be. We left ‘normal’ back in March to face…isolation, hand-washing, face masks, physical distancing, and uncertainty – our ‘new normal’. The Israelites, with God’s help – as you remember made it through the Red Sea…and we, with God’s help, have made it through six months of new normal.
In Exodus 15 we read the story of the victory celebration that the Israelites had with the understanding that there was a journey ahead of them…through territory that they knew nothing about. We can celebrate the progress we have made as victories but there is a new season ahead of us and we know nothing about the challenges that are ahead. The Israelites knew whether they like or not would have to depend on God if they were to make it to the Promised Land. We, whether we like it or not, need to depend on God if we are to make it to our Promise Land.
The Israelites were to travel through a wilderness were there would be great challenges, victories, defeats, and lots of surprises…and it would take forty years…but God would bring them through. We have ‘wilderness days’ ahead of us with great challenges, victories, defeats, and plenty of surprises…and it will take a God-ordained amount of time…but God will bring us through – I am sure!
Just a little something to ponder — have a blessed day!
