A Church with a Heart for our Community

September 6th Wednesday

Greetings to you in the name of the One who walked on water, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a beautiful September morning…and how the times they are a-changing! It is a challenge to transition into a new season with all of the changes without voicing our opinion in some way or another. Therefore, here is your chance. All you have to do is fill in the blank…”I know summer is almost gone – all that wonderful warmth and fall is in the air – with that ‘cool’ edge …But I need to say this ____________________________________________________________________ . Okay, you can return to reality. I will be praying for you today, asking Father to embrace you with his transforming love and healing touch.

In light of yesterday’s comments, God decided that I needed another word from Him. I had an idea that if I needed to hear it – maybe there are others who need to be reminded of a valuable truth. The Scripture portion in question says: Forget the former things {the way I did things before, the last time -perhaps];do not dwell on the past. See, [pay attention], I am doing a new thing [a new method]! Now it springs up [ it is happening right now]; do you not perceive it [you are not seeing, are you…you really don’t get it]? I am making a way in the desert [it seems counter-intuitive] and streams in the wasteland [it really challenges your routine].  –  Isaiah 43:18 – 19  NIV with bracketed comments —  Forget what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is! I’m making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands.  Isaiah 43:18-19  The Message.

I am sure that God is working in my life and in the lives of many others but we are not seeing it, perceiving it, because it isn’t the way we have come to expect and it certainly isn’t the way we want! However, on the authority of God’s Word – He is working in totally different, unexpected, and unexplainable ways — He is still God, isn’t He?

Something to think about – be blessed!
