A Church with a Heart for our Community

September 11th Friday

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! Another beautiful late summer morning…and another September 11th with all of its memories and emotions – a good day to repeat many times the Jesus prayers: Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God have mercy on me a sinner – Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God have favour on me, a son/daughter. I trust that you have had a good week and are excited about the weekend ahead. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to release contagious love-joy-peace within your attitudes and words and action

There we were at prayer time, realizing the enormity of the concerns that people had identified: inoperable and untreatable conditions, the doctor said nothing else can be done, the relationship is too broken, there is nothing we can do, it is impossible…and then one of the saints said: “nothing is impossible with God!” We tried, at one point to sing the little chorus – “Nothing is too difficult for Thee!” We went our own ways after the last “amen” but my heart was heavy. It takes, so I thought, a lot of faith to look at all the “impossible” situations and pray with expectant belief that miracles are possible. I must confess that I rolled that scenario over and over in my mind.

The very next day, I was visiting with one these impossible situations and God stirred my heart to quietly proclaim: “We believe in the Bible and we believe in God’s love and we believe in reality of a risen Jesus…so, as dark and desperate as things seem…Nothing is impossible with God!” I had to repeat it a few times, both for my friend and myself. I wondered what difference it could make…and I guess that is not my problem. A few hours later, I found myself repeating the story of that encounter to two different people and as I did…it started to “feel” right.

Just a few minutes ago God prompted me to look at three verses of Scripture. I’ll give them to you, along with the ‘address’ so you read the context – the impossible situations“…for nothing is impossible with God.”  Luke 1:37 NLT – “Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.” Matthew 19:26 NLT – “O Sovereign LORD! You made the heavens and the earth by your strong hand and powerful arm. Nothing is too hard for you!” Jeremiah 32:17 NLT. So, my friends, what impossible situation are you facing…”Nothing, nothing, absolutely nothing is too difficult for your Father in heaven!” “How can it be?” you ask. “I do not know…but if God took the time to inspire those words into the Bible, they have to be true!” I am going to keep praying for healing and restoration and reconciliation and revival and redemption…Nothing is impossible with God!.after all, here I am…“I’m a wonder unto many – God alone the change has wrought -here I raise my “Ebenezer” – hither by His hand I’m brought!” Robert Robinson.

Enjoy all of God’s blessings!
