A Church with a Heart for our Community

September 10th Tuesday

Greetings to you in the wonderful, powerful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a lovely…”summer’s almost over”….morning in the Kingdom! However, “this is the day that the Lord has made!” … are you going to rejoice an be glad in it? I trust that you had a good weekend and Monday with lots of blessings, in all sizes and shapes, from the Lord. This morning, God says: “I have it my mind to reveal my self to people who are truly looking for me–and I am going to do that today!! I will be praying for you today, asking Father to release a hunger and a thirst within you to experience the manifest presence of God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

This morning in my devotions, God chose to speak to me through a few lines from my readings and then He revealed an acitivity for prayer times this week. By the way, yesterday was our Monday prayer gathering for the city and there were a few extra people there praying and  God is on the move in our city!

First, let me share a few sentences: He (God) won’t open doors for you that you are not ready to go through…He (God) won’t barricade the way that fulfils my dreams…What I hunger for, He satisfies with His love…God works most when we see it the least  These thoughts have stimulated my ‘pondering department.’

Now for the prayer exercise that He directed – we have a small congregation, so this works well. I got blue-coloured sheets of 8 1/2 x 11  paper and folded them at the middle so that I have 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 little tent cards. I then wrote the name of one of the regular attenders on the “tent” and placed it on the chair they usually sit on. Then I got yellow-coloured sheets of paper and made the same sort of tent cards but without names. I put these on the usually unoccupied seats. When prayer time comes. one can walk through the sanctuary and pray for this person or that person … and pray for one of the ten usually unoccupied seats to be filled with someone who needs to encounter Jesus. The beauty of this exercise is that one can put a specific name on a tent-card and claim it! This morning there are ten empty spaces to pray for. Can you think of a name you could put on an empty space and simply pray that God would bring them in?

Have a great day … be blessd!
