A Church with a Heart for our Community

September 10th Thursday

Greetings to you – loved by Almighty God – in the beautiful, powerful, and healing name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Savior!  What a lovely September morning that the Lord has made for us…we will rejoice and be glad in it, and discover more of God’s presence. This is a transition week as enter into the fall season, hopefully establishing a new rhythm to our lives. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to reveal the power of his presence as He re-orientates you to a new season…and I pray for a spiritual breakthrough as you face the challenges ahead.

One of the most important lessons I have learned over the past “weeks” is how relational God is. I know that He wants me/us, to seek Him and appreciate Him and long for Him. He wants me/us to be hungry and thirsty for Him. However, what He really wants is to be “loved” – to be desired. Remember that day in the home of Mary and Martha when Jesus said that Mary had chosen the better activity because she chose Him!

We understand that God wants a relationship with us…to be our Father and to call us His children. But, have you ever considered…realized that even more than a relationship He wants a “romance” with us…intimacy and adventure. Consider this – that all of nature has no particular primary function. Nature was created to be beautiful, to draw our attention to the creator – the Father. He wants us to notice Him in a sunset, a waterfall, in animals playing, and in whatever beauty catches our eye.

It was an invitation – You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all you heart … and – you shall love the Lords with all your heart- mind- soul- strength. Jeremiah 29:13 – Luke 10:27 – that alerted me. God wants more than obedience and respect and fear and service and simple relationship…He wants our love. It seems that our God has a passionate heart.

Something to think about…have a blessed day!
