Greetings to you in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a beautiful Spring morning in the Kingdom! – blue skies, bright sunshine, green grass, lawnmowers, and cool breezes. Of course, there are lots of household chores and challenges with yard-work and window cleaning and house cleaning and ‘airing out’ the house…but these are simply reminders that God continues to be in control, working His plan with consistency. I will be praying for you today, asking Father to allow you to experience the fragrance of his presence and to sense his ‘spring-cleaning’ within your heart-mind-body-spirit.
This morning I believe God wants to remind us of a principle from His Word and to do so requires sharing: The LORD said to Moses, “Tell Aaron and his sons [the clergy of the day], ‘This is how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them: “The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.” ‘ “So they put my name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.” – Numbers 6:22-27 NIV.
Now, hear these words: Lord, when you said to me, “Seek my face,” my inner being responded, “I am seeking your face with all my heart.” – Psalm 27:8 TPT.
One of the things that we need to pray for each other with more urgency is – Father, look at __________ and grant them your favour; Father, look at _____________ and release your “shalom”; Father, look at ______________ he/she/they belong to you! Further to that, we need to make seeking His face and favour central to our spiritual discipline. I have a sense that we get in a rut and settle for something less than what is available.
Listen to these words from the Word: For now we see but a faint reflection of riddles and mysteries as though reflected in a mirror, but one day we will see face-to-face. – 1 Corinthians 13:12a TPT. It would seem that one of the rewards for faithfully enduring this life is to see face-to-face the One who has given meaning and purpose…favour and peace…to our lives.
The song writer used these words: O disclose thy lovely face!-Quicken all my drooping powers;-Gasps my fainting soul for grace-As a thirsty land for showers; – Charles Wesley. Many times in our gatherings we have sung songs and/or choruses that expressed that inner yearning – ‘Open my eyes , Lord, I want to see Jesus’ – ‘Turn your eyes upon Jesus’ – ‘Show me your glory’ – and in way we were expressing our hunger and thirst for a profoundly personal experience with God. Interestingly enough, Jesus promised…if we had a hunger and a thirst for a right relationship with God…it would be satisfied!
Are you seeking His face and favour – today? Be blessed!
