A Church with a Heart for our Community

October 5th Thursday

Greetings to you in the name of the One who walks on water, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a lovely morning in the Kingdom – a day to enjoy and rejoice, a day to make a difference in our corner of the world, a day to savour all things bright and beautiful. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to make you aware of the work of re-creating that is going on in your life and to reveal what you can do to assist in the project.

I have been listening to the ‘cd’ I mentioned yesterday – “Glory Song” by Matt Redman and found another song that really touches my soul. The song is called – ‘Place of Praise’ and the words that caught my attention, that drew me into the song, go like this: Through every changing moment-Find me at Your throne-In every shifting season-Find this heart bowed down-Through every stormy tempest-And every circumstance-When life is at its brightest-Or when shadows gather round-Let me find my way-To the place of praise … and a line from the chorus says: I will not bring anything that costs me nothing-The sacrifice of praise.

My testimony has been and is that I need to find my way every day and in every circumstance to the place of praise. I had the opportunity to share that conviction recently in our Bible study. We were dealing with a question: How do you keep yourself in God’s love? There were many good answers…pray, read the Bible, serve others, go to church, live a good life, and look after others. My answer was – I need to get to a place of praise and worship, preferably with brothers and sisters of faith and “praise” God…especially when I don’t feel like it or if things are going sideways and backwards or if my heart is breaking or want to be alone. Praising and worshipping God can be hard work…very demanding at times – a sacrifice of praise indeed!, but worth it.

One further thought, a quote actually –   Now is the dwelling place of God himself.  Thomas R. Kelly. The best time to pray or to praise or to serve or to speak encouragement or to give or to ________  – NOW.

Be blessed and enjoy the day!
