A Church with a Heart for our Community

October 26th Thursday

Greetings to you in the Name above very name – so wonderful…so beautiful…so powerful, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour. What a lovely, although a little cool, morning in the kingdom! I was impressed with God’s creativity as I watched the sunshine picking its way through the early morning mist and the frost retreating from the sun’s warmth. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to reveal His glory to you through the work of His hands in the created world.

Recently someone, a visitor, was leaving a worship gathering and commented on how “at home” they had felt. We have a saying that you are only a visitor until you meet the first person…and then you are family. One of my morning devotions by a young woman, Jess Connelly, reminded me: Church is supposed to be the one place where we do feel at home…because when we arrive – we already belong, we already have a place, and we are already accepted. Our souls crave ‘belonging’ because God made us that way. According to our instruction book -the Bible, when God creates a human being He places a slice of eternity within. He made us so that we would long for a relationship with Him and with others. The church that Jesus Christ is in love with and died to create is the one place where we do belong because our place was paid for through the cross of Jesus Christ.

I believe in the church. I believe in the church family. I believe that the church is a place where miracles happen, I believe that church people are walking miracles. I believe that in belonging to God through a church and with church people…we have something that the world cannot give and that the world cannot take away.

Be blessed!
