A Church with a Heart for our Community

October 24th Tuesday

Greetings to you in the name of the One who radiates the Glory of God, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What an interesting morning in the Kingdom – Lady Autumn has given us the ‘cold shoulder’ and pulled the collar of her cloak up! I trust that you had a good weekend and Monday experiencing all that God sent your way…people, opportunities, divine appointments, and moments of reflection. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to touch you with His hand so that He can impart to you what you need in your life.

Something really interesting is taking place in and around our community. I have been part of a prayer gathering for ten plus years that has been praying for our city and county. We long to see a spiritual awakening–a revival. A few weeks ago, one of our prayer-ers declared that she sensed the revival was beginning and that there were signs of people ‘waking-up’ spiritually. We have been believing and praying into that declaration since that Monday gathering.

Now let me add another ingredient – one of the things we have been praying about in support of the spiritual awakening/revival focus is in line with Jesus’ direction: Then he (Jesus) said to his disciples, The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”  Matthew 9: 37 -38. Believing that there is a great harvest in our city and county, we are praying for workers – harvesters, to come to the ‘harvest fields’ here. Over the past weeks…three individuals have moved to our area because they sensed God calling them to come.

One more addition…one of our local congregations have initiated a midweek worship gathering called – “Encounter”. I have been to two of them and I believe God is moving to create a spiritual hunger and thirst for an ‘encounter’ with Himself.

Perhaps all this, or some of it, may sound to strange to you. We like to have an understanding of God that is comfortable and to some extent within our control…but God, I believe, wants to stretch our understanding and reveal a personal, powerful Presence. I would ask you to pray a very simple prayer – ” God, show us your glory!”

Something to ponder…have a blessed day!
