A Church with a Heart for our Community

October 10th Friday

Greetings in the name of the One who reveals the Father’s love, Jesus Christ – THE Crucified and Risen Saviour! Another beautiful fall morning…what a grand way to start Thanksgiving weekend. I will be praying for you today, asking Father to watch over you and your family, giving you countless reasons to be thankful for the joy of living.

I have suggested to you to make a daily “Thank You List” or a “Reverse Bucket List” and is is encouraging to know that some of you are doing so. I wanted to share mine: Monday – a good prayer gathering for our city/county and Monday night “Connections” ; Tuesday – the “minstrels” who so beautifully communicate spiritual truths ; Wednesday – a good noon-hour prayer time ; Thursday – the final exam for the first level of ISOM and passing ; Friday – the living word of God ; Saturday – ???. What a week in the Kingdom!

This morning, I turned to God’s Word and was lead to one of my top 500 favourite passages – Ecclesiastes 3. I like to be, and need to be, reminded often that God is in control and has a ‘time-sensitive’ character. As my eyes scanned the passage, it seemed like three phrases were clamouring for my attention: “…a time for keeping your distance…a time to give up as lost…a time to be quiet”  Ecclesiastes 3: 5,6,7  The Voice. I knew what they meant to me, so I thanked God for his direction through the Bible, and responded to what He was saying.

Have a “Happy Thanksgiving Weekend” with your family and friends…be blessed!
