A Church with a Heart for our Community

November 5th Friday

Greetings to you – loved, chosen, accepted, redeemed, forgiven, gifted, sealed…by God through the name above all names, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Savior! What a beautiful November morning in the Kingdom with the sun gently removing the frost from the pumpkins. This is the day that the Lord has made for us to enjoy so that we can rejoice and be glad in! I trust all is well in your corner of the Kingdom with blessings and experiences and delight coming your way from the Father. Today I will be praying for God to release healing and strength and peace and hope and joy to you…let His presence draw you close…may you hear the warmth of his voice speaking to you.

This is new release Friday in the music world and it seems like the music world is  ‘awakening’ and just in time for Christmas. However I am drawn to a song that was released last year. I must confess that I haven’t even listened to it – yet, but I am appreciating the words. The song entitled – We Need Christmas – has some very timely lyrics, and not just for Christmas: …This world could use a little healing-Our hearts could surely use something to believe in…Come on, December help us to remember-The joy, the peace and the hope that love can bring-We need Christmas. It is okay, I am not going to start pushing Christmas yet…although it is tempting.

However, we could use a little healing for our spirit, we could use something to believe in! I remember Anne Murray’s song of a few years ago: I sure could use a little good news today. Our world has changed over the last months and we have been forced to change and adapt as well…and you know how much we like “change”! Maybe we need to recapture the prayer of serenity: God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, … Father, give us courage to change what must be altered, serenity to accept what cannot be helped, and the insight to know the one from the other.

I suppose that is why the days ahead are so important…we are able to find our way back to truths that have not changed and that can give us stability and hope. We need “a little healing” that comes from being reminded of the faith that makes us so unique. We must remember that God made us a promise...I am the Lord., I change not – Malachi 3:6. Even as we hang onto that promise, He makes another one…Behold, I will do a new thing – Isaiah 43:19. Now ponder that for a time…the God who does not change likes to DO things differently from time to time…well often it seems. I wonder what is going to happen next?

Something to consider…be blessed!
