A Church with a Heart for our Community

November 22nd Thursday

Greetings to you in the name of the One who allows us entrance to the ‘throne room of God’s presence’, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a beautiful morning to give thanks to God for every good and perfect gift that has been and is a major ingredient of our lives. I will be praying for you today, asking Father to release a fresh measure of healing, daily strength, restoration, reconciliation, and purpose…and the energy to make a new start.

“Happy Thanksgiving” – I know, I know….it is the American Thanksgiving Day, but why not join in. Plus we get to share in “Black Friday” celebrations as well. Of course, as followers of Father God we know that every day is a “thanksgiving day” – but I think it is important to have special days to give thanks – to focus our attention with a deliberateness to things that we take for granted. We do understand that much of our “thanks” is for…’food and friends and all God sends’…the tangibles. However, what about the intangibles that we somehow overlook.

Let me give you five truths from a spiritual perspective that are foundational to our giving of thanks. First, every person in our lives, including us has..DIGNITY. Second, like it or not, we are broken…all of us. Third, even though we are broken, we are deeply loved and valued. Fourth, we need each other for our healing comes in the midst of relationships. Fifth, what isn’t healed here on earth will be healed in heaven…I have read the last chapter of The Book and the grand finale will remove your tears and pain and darkness and aloneness.

So – “Happy Thanksgiving to you my fellow adventurer!”
