A Church with a Heart for our Community

May 27th Wednesday

Greetings to you in the wonderful, powerful, and beautiful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour!  What an interesting morning in the Kingdom – a mixture of sun, clouds, gentle breezes, and ……. but it is still ‘today’ and it is, of course, the day that God has made for us and He is waiting to hear us rejoice and express our gladness to Him. These are strange days, like living in some suspended animation or trapped in a bad dream hoping that we wake up very soon. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to touch your life in a way that will bring a smile to your face and a soothing peace to your thoughts and a warmth to your heart.

As this is mid-week, I was looking for a word from God and He simply whispered to me – “Listen!” I have learned from past experience that if I want to hear from God, if I am really ‘listening’ then I have to “wait” and that is challenging. I am reminded of a prayer chorus that I have not heard for a time: Meet my need, Lord-Meet my need, just now-I am waiting and Thou art coming-To meet my need just now. Jesus taught His disciples that one of their great needs would be the Holy Spirit…and they would have to “wait” for Him. In reading Acts 1, the disciples want to know if things are going to happen now – is God going to make a correction-move at this moment? Jesus replied that God is in charge of timing…so wait on Him.

God has always had a strange way of doing things…”Taste and see,” His word says in Psalm 34:8…and in the upper room, Jesus breathed the Holy Spirit into them – “Taste and see” and it was so good they wanted more…but they needed to wait. There have always been great benefits in “listening” to God’s directions. I am encouraged by the directions to Joshua, that he in turn passed on to the Israelites …“Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you.” – Joshua 3:5 NIV. God is good so wait for tomorrow!.

So right now, as we are waiting – with our needs … God tells us that He has plans for us, that He will renew our strength, that He will do amazing things – like miracles and healings and breakthroughs – TOMORROW, if we can and will wait. I appreciate the Psalmist’s testimony – Here’s what I’ve learned through it all: Don’t give up; don’t be impatient; be entwined as one with the Lord. Be brave and courageous, and never lose hope. Yes, keep on waiting–for He will never disappoint you! – Psalm 27:14 TPT.

Right now I am waiting for Pentecost Sunday – I am waiting for a fresh touch of God’s Holy Spirit – I am waiting for God to meet my needs – and I am waiting because I know that God is coming to meet my needs – our needs!

Something to think about – be blessed!
