A Church with a Heart for our Community

May 22nd Wednesday

Greetings to you in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a different sort of a day this is after yesterday lovely sunshine…but, it is still a day that God has creatively designed for us – so let us begin thanking him for the evidences of his Presence that we will experience. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to reveal himself to you in a meaningful way so that you will know and understand His purposes and plans for this season in your life.

A few months back God gave me a verse of Scripture to ponder and while it spoke to my heart at that time – I put it aside. So, over the past few days, He has gently and persistently reminded me of the verse…Know the importance of the season you’re in..Proverbs 10:5a TPT. I have been asking Him., “what ‘season’ am I in?” Now, I know that within the church calendar, I am in the pre-Pentecost  Sunday time and I think that is what He is trying to get me to understand. In the context of history this was a time when His people were waiting for something they had never experienced before…the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. During this time of waiting, I believe they were discovering the depth of their faith.

I believe that as we wait for Pentecost Sunday 2019 – we are re-discovering the depth of our faith in the midst of personal uncertainty and the demands of our daily living. Personally, I have been learning that ‘waiting’ is very difficult and complicated…and not to be wasted. I am learning that faith in the midst of the unknown is the faith that is real. This is a time to ‘lean in’ because right now in the midst of the waiting is a peace beyond explanation and reason…right now there is “Presence” and this “Presence” seems rather confident, unafraid, comfortable, and in control.

Perhaps in this ‘season’ we are in, we need to understand … He knows the plans He has for us, and nothing can separate us from the love and care that He has for us – so right now, we just need to do one thing as we wait for a fresh encounter with the Holy Spirit. Every day – at least once – we need to turn away from the mess and melee of life so that we can turn our eyes on Jesus. We are not alone, not for a moment.

Be blessed.
