A Church with a Heart for our Community

May 12th Thursday

Greetings in the name of the One who loves us and laid down His life for us, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a beautiful morning in the sunshine! We are so blessed to enjoy such variety in our weather and such beauty in the world around us! I will be praying for you, asking Father to hear your praises and respond back to you in ways that you, personally, will understand.

“Day 8” of our prayer journey and today the focus is – “Suffering with power for the Glory of Jesus” and the anchor verse is: “…rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name,”  Acts 5:41. We are to pray for those believers of all ages who are living in locations where they suffer persecution-rejection-isolation-ridicule for believing in Jesus Christ. Further, we are praying for leaders and governments to be blessed and receive open hearts-minds liberally watered with wisdom.

Today is a special day in our lives…we are celebrating 11 years of being in our home! We have had many adventures, shared a lot of laughter, shed more than a few tears, have grown spiritually, and valued the experience of being settled. We have been part of the community/city for 13 years at the beginning of this month…and it has been such a huge blessing to share the Christian journey with a great church family. As one of my morning devotionals suggested – what we are experiencing in our lives right now is but “the trailer” of a movie showing the highlights of what lies ahead.

We are now three big sleeps away from Pentecost Sunday and I am expecting God to pour out His presence acroos the family of faith in our city. There are a few special gatherings taking place and guest speakers and most, if not all, the churches focused on this special day. I was at a minister’s gathering this week and it was so good to hear Pentecost being talked about by different “family members” as to how they would celebrate. So lots to ponder and look forward to.

Be blessed today!
