A Church with a Heart for our Community

May 10th Friday

Greetings to you in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a beautiful morning after last night’s rain! I trust that you have had a good week thus far and are excited about the weekend…I have it on good authority that God is going to be with us this Sunday – He has heard some good reports about our gatherings and wants to check us out! Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to bring  excitement and enthusiasm and energy into your spirit…and to touch your body with wholeness and wellness.

This morning I was reading some articles in reference to the church. First, a well-respected and loved Bible teacher/pastor has died. Warren Wiersbe was a fine, mature Christian man who loved God’s Word and God’s people. He will be missed. Second, there was a report from the frontlines…the Hillsong worship team is touring the USA and the leader, Joel Houston, says that he is seeing God a work in new and different ways He says that God is calling the church to unity and to loving one another:

“If ever there was a time for people to get together and to be unified around something, that ultimately is the only thing I believe in this world has the ability to bring anything and everyone together, that’s the message we have in Jesus,” Houston said at his Orlando concert Tuesday (May 7). “The Gospel is for all people, whosoever.”

Third, there is an urgent call to prayer: Prayer changes the conditions upon which the decisions of God are made. When we pray, good things happen. When we don’t the power of darkness has its way…I urge you to stand in the place of prayer for your family, your city, and your nation. Give heaven a target, and watch God’s glorious will increasingly manifest on the earth.”  Bill Johnson, Bethel Church – Redding, California.

I have a sense that the next report of God’s manifestation could very well happen in our province-city-church…and I want to be part of that! Have a great weekend — be blessed!
