A Church with a Heart for our Community

March 8th Tuesday

Greetings to you…desired, chosen, known and celebrated by the Father through the beautiful, accepting, and powerful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Savior! What a wonderful morning in the Kingdom…this is obviously the day that the Lord has made for us so that we would rejoice and be glad and find meaning in His presence. I trust that you had a good weekend and Monday with much to thank God for. This morning I will be praying for you, asking Father to grant healing strength and courage to you and a deep awareness of Himself…may He fill your heart with joy and your mouth with laughter.

This past Sunday I shared with my church family a teaching on the word “grace” an the definition of that word always begins with the kindness and favor of God that is “unmerited” and that is a comfortable definition. However this morning I was challenged to consider that grace is not always comfortable…in fact the most precise phrase might be to say that grace is “uncomfortable” and yet so necessary.

In teaching about grace, I shared that grace is really our power source, that which is necessary to live our lives with an inner confidence. We need a race that will empower us to respond to the circumstances and situations that are…”uncomfortable”, so we need an “uncomfortable grace.”  We need a ‘power’ to endure whatever it is that we are going through. We need a ‘power’ to resist the seductiveness of temptation. We need a ‘power’ to enable to accomplish the tasks and demands of life that are always ahead of us. We need a ‘power’ that will equip us to influence our world and the people we interact with.

In short, as much as we crave a the comfort of living simple, uncomplicated lives – that rarely happens. Life for the most part doesn’t seem to work the way we want it to…it is messy and noisy and, well – uncomfortable. No wonder, the song ‘Amazing Grace’  captures our hearts and minds for it reminds us of the power of God’s favor and kindness released in ‘uncomfortable grace’.

Something to think about…be blessed
