A Church with a Heart for our Community

March 30th Tuesday

Greetings to you…my fellow-travelers on the Lenten journey…in the beautiful, wonderful, and powerful name of Jesus Christ – The Risen Savior! What a beautiful morning in the Kingdom! Let us come in agreement and declare – “This is the day that the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it!” I trust that you had a good weekend and are enjoying this new week with all of the possibilities it holds. This morning I will be praying for you, asking Father to release hope and healing to you…may His grace give you strength for the day…may He be the lifter of your head…may His joy encourage you.

We are now on the last few days of our Lenten journey and the shadow of the cross is becoming more distinct as we draw nearer. Have you made any discoveries about God’s plan, about Jesus, about your faith or about you? Have you experienced moments of intimacy with Jesus?

From the biblical account we understand that up to the triumphal entry, Jesus spent time interacting with people but His agenda seemed to change slightly during the last days. It seems that He focused on teaching and confronting the religiosity of the Jewish leaders. In three of the Gospels, He spoke about the coming of end-times. Once again there was an intimate encounter that featured an anointing. It was a busy few days that allow us to see Jesus with a quiet sense of urgency and an incredible patience.

From our human perspective we know that a person’s behavior and words and interactions during the last days of their life is important. Therefore it is equally important to take time this week to read the accounts of the last week of Jesus’ life on earth…Matthew 21:18 – 26:16 ; Mark 11:12 – 14:11 ; Luke 19:47 – 21:38 ; John 12:20 – 50.

A little homework…be blessed
