Greetings to you in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a beautiful Spring morning in the Kingdom…have you thanked Him for the sunshine and blue skies that you are seeing? have you heard the birds singing and given God thanks for such unique music to listen to? have you opened your window or stepped outside and caught a whiff of fresh, crisp air? Isn’t God good?!?! I trust that you had a great weekend and Monday. Are you excited about the week that is ahead of you and the blessings that God has arranged for you? I will be praying for you today, asking Father to be the “Lifter of your head” and your “Strong and Mighty Tower”.
Yesterday was our Monday prayer gathering and it was good to hear people tell of how God had blessed them in response to prayers offered. I was challenged to think of how many ‘answered prayers’ could be shared when the people come together and I wondered why there was such reluctance to ‘thank God’ for an answer to a simple, specific prayer. Could it be that we are thinking that if it isn’t a grand answer to great request that it is not important? Is it more difficult for God to heal a disease or mend a relationship or find someone employment than to help find a lost set of keys or give a parking place or reduce time waiting at a check-out when we are late?
Scripture does say that “nothing is impossible to God” and if a life situation-need-concern is important enough to cause concern – it is important enough to pray about – it is important enough to ‘thank Him’ by telling someone about it. I believe that the more often we acknowledge God’s activity in our lives on a daily basis, the more attractive He becomes to others. Yes, it is important for people to know that God is active in the world in very big ways but He also cares about the simple things in our lives.
I recall a children’s hymn that most of us can probably remember that says – God sees the little sparrow fall-It meets His tender view-If God so loved the little birds-I know He loves me too! Nothing, no one, no part of God’s creation escapes His attention and so there is nothing I cannot pray about and nothing that is unimportant enough to thank Him for.
Are there some things that you have considered too small too mention that you should be telling others about as to how God answered prayers? Bless you!
