Greetings to you in the wonderful name of Jesus – THE Risen Saviour! What a beautiful March morning and it is so easy to affirm that this is a “given day” from our Father-God. I was out early for appointments and the people that I connected with were happy and hopeful! I trust that you had a great weekend with many blessings and happy moments when God’s presence was evident. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to release a healing, strengthening touch upon you – physically, spiritually, emotionally, and mentally!
This is day 6 of Lent and our journey to the Cross. It is a journey that we take each year and like any ‘revisiting’ of an event or location it comes with a mixture of seeing the familiar and being comforted…and seeing things afresh that challenge our comfort level. We see people that we haven’t paid much attention to since Lent last year…they are somewhat the same but somehow slightly different. We stop at places we haven’t visited since last year and there is a warmth and welcome feeling. Of course, we realize that it really is “us” that is different, so much has taken place in our lives over the past 365 days.
Yesterday was our first Monday prayer gathering of Lent and there was a definable, noticeable “something” in the atmosphere. There were a few new faces in attendance and a few familiar faces missing. We usually prepare ourselves for the prayer time with singing a few songs that reflect our praise and worship and expectation. We sang a beautiful song that asked the question…”Is He worthy?” and followed it up with an expressive affirmation…”How sweet it is….to be loved by Jesus” – and when we were ready for prayer…we were ready!
I am so thankful for the “intercessors” who arrive each Monday to pray: for the peace and prosperity of the city and the county – for the family of faith – for the elected leadership- for the people who serve the needs of the community – and for personal needs. Some of the “prayerers” have been coming for 12 years now…Monday after Monday after Monday. I believe that each one would testify that God has never failed to make His presence known and that there have been many answers to prayer. I was so encouraged to be sharing the first Monday of Lent 2019 with such an influential assortment of intercessors.
Oh! by the way…there is always room for more to come and make use of this house of prayer…just saying! Have a grand day in the kingdom!
