A Church with a Heart for our Community

June 12th Tuesday

Greetings to you in the name of the one who was tempted in ALL ways as we are and yet never yielded, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! Wow! what a beautiful morning in the Kingdom! I trust that you have had a grand weekend and are enjoying the early days of this new week. Once again world events remind us of how much we need a God who is in control. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to strengthen you in body, mind, and spirit.

It is such a simple statement: Faith, belief, and love do not buffer or barricade our lives from trouble and hardship. In fact, sometimes it feels like having faith and doing the right things can attract troubles.  Jim Burgen, No More Dragons. So simple and so complex at the same time because it challenges the assumptions that we have lived with for many years. In the book key issues about life are discussed from a Christian perspective and so far I have just read excerpts that deal with our number one enemy – DEPRESSION. I believe it is one of those books that a Christian should have a read of.

Now that was a ‘commercial’ and so back to regular programming. This morning God sent a verse along to me…I think because this past Sunday I made a comment about “old age”. The verse reads: Listen to me, family of Jacob [that includes us], everyone that’s left of the family of Israel. I have been carrying you on my back from the day you were born, and I’ll keep on carrying you when you’re old. I’ll be there, bearing you when you are old and gray. I’ve done it and will keep doing it, carrying you on my back, saving you.  Isaiah 46:3-4  The Message. Now,isn’t that an encouraging word?

I wonder if verse was what Apostle Paul had in mind when he asserted: ..being confident of this, that He [God] who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Jesus Christ.  Philippians 1:6  NIV. It is so encouraging to me to understand that God is working within me day by day…and it is so powerful to realize that God always has future plans for our lives. Why not take a moment and ponder that? Regardless of our age, our physical health, our life situation … God is working within us to complete us – we are a ‘work in process’!

Have a blessed day!
