A Church with a Heart for our Community

July 5th Tuesday

Greetings to you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Savior! Let us give thanks for this day that the Lord has made and let us rejoice, be glad, and surrender ourselves to Him. Although the sun is not shining brightly…we needed the rain and the freshening of the atmosphere. I trust that all has been good in your world and that God has made his presence known to you. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to release health, strength, renewed energy, and a happy heart to you…for those of us who have specific needs, may we experience the power of his touch just where it is needed.

I am sure that you are aware that this past weekend we entered into the second half of 2022 and our new normal. I like being aware of the season we are in, as it gives one the opportunity to make any necessary “course-adjustments” for the days ahead. I was blessed to share communion with the church family on Sunday…it was really good. Then on Monday our prayer gathering  gave us the opportunity to recommit to our prayer assignment for our city and the community of faith. Once again we shared the bread and the juice of communion. On this occasion we listened to, snag and prayed along with a song that I want to give you the words to. I want you to know where our focus is these days so that you can pray along with us.

Here are the words to a song – Breathe On Us Again:

O Lord hear O Lord forgive us
We have lost the awe of You
Have mercy have mercy
O Lord cleanse our hearts which are divided
Stir the faith that we once knew
We’re thirsty we’re thirsty

O Lord restore the church that bears Your name
O Spirit send a revival to this nation
Breathe on us again breathe on us again

I have a belief that these words are reflective of the spiritual temperature of our community of faith as we reboot in our new state of normal. We have lost our sense of “awe and wonder” and we have lost our “hunger and thirst” for God’s presence. Maybe you might take a few moments…seek God’s presence until He overwhelms you and you find yourself surrendering to “amazing grace” and experiencing “shekinah glory” – God’s manifest presence. We have exciting days ahead of us!

Just a little something to ponder…be blessed!
