A Church with a Heart for our Community

July 26th Wednesday

Greetings to you in the name of the One “who was and is and is to come”, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Savior! What a lovely summer morning in the Kingdom!…and t is time to make our daily declaration – “This is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it!” It is so important to make that declaration at the beginning of each day so as to access the supernatural strength that is available to us from the Lord who is faithful, loving us with a unfailing love. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to reveal His provision and comfort and strength and peace beyond understanding in ways that you will experience and respond to.

This morning I have had the opportunity to view a video from Harvest Ministries in California. The video was a ‘recap’ of a July crusade held at the Honda Center in Anaheim that brought the message of the Christian Gospel to over 230,000 individuals (in person and online)…during the crusade 6794 people made personal decisions to follow Christ. Following the crusade here was an opportunity to make a public declaration of faith by being baptized at Pirate’s Beach…and more than 4500 people participated. It was incredible to watch! The host of the event was Pastor Greg Laurie who was involved in the Jesus Revolution.

These kind of events help one visualize the words of Peter’s sermon on Pentecost as he quoted from Joel 2…”in the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people” – for we are living in last days. This is a taste, if you will, of what God is doing in our world…there was a three day gathering – Empowered21- in Amsterdam in June that saw people from over 140 countries coming together to focus on world evangelism as we move towards 2033 and the two thousandth birthday of the church. It is good to be reminded and made aware of what God is doing beyond our communities and our country. It is good to be reminded that as Christians we are members of a large and rather diverse family of faith.

Have a blessed day!
