A Church with a Heart for our Community

July 25th Tuesday

Greetings to you in the name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Savior! What a lovely morning in the Kingdom…at least for this moment! It is my delight to declare to you – This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!…and it came with a fresh supply of mercy, grace, and God’s love! I trust that you had a good weekend and Monday – experiencing the presence of Father-Son-Holy Spirit! Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to – bless you and keep you, to smile upon you and gift you, to be the lifter of your head so that He can look at you face to face, and to prosper you!

In recent conversations I have been reminded of the necessity of having the Bible as our “Instruction Manual For Life”. Of course it is not enough to have it – it has to be used…often, regularly. I want to remind you that the Bible is …God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness (right living), so that the servant of God (you and I)maybe thoroughly equipped for every good work (the tasks that God has for us). 2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV  (brackets added). I am concerned that the discipline of reading the Bible has lost ground in our lives and with it, the complementary  actions.

I want to share a few sentences from this morning’s devotions:

  1. Read the Bible
  2. Study the Bible
  3. Memorize the Bible
  4. Meditate on the Bible

The good news is that there is a simple way to read for breadth of knowledge. If you read the Bible for five minutes a day, you will read the Bible over thirty hours a year! (5 minutes × 365 days = 1,825 minutes divided by 60 minutes per hour = 30.4 hours!)

Imagine what five minutes a day could do for you…something to ponder – be blessed!
