A Church with a Heart for our Community

July 13th Wednesday

Greetings in the name that gives us access to the Father’s presence, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! Thanks to God for another great day in the Kingdom! – warm breezes, sunshine, blue skies, and a possibility of much needed rain. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to encourage your hearts, to ignite your imagination, and touch your body with healing power.

This morning I completed my “A Psalm-a-Day” plan with the reading of Psalm 150. As I read…you might want to look it over for yourself…an image of David as the “Conductor” of an orchestra appeared. I could see him skillfully bringing the different instruments into a unique symphony…first the trumpets and brass instruments, then the harp and lyre, next the tambourines with dancers off to the side, now more strings and woodwinds, the clash of cymbals, and a vast choir breathing notes of praise. As all this was happening the stage was lit with a brilliant display of lights moving as a dancer with the harmony and rhythm of the music. It was an awesome moment in my imagination.

Caught up in the moment, I heard the words of a song: I breathe out confusion-I breathe in Your truth-I breathe out all my fear-I breathe in Your peace…I lay down my weakness-I take on Your strength-I lay down my defenses-I step into Your victory — (chorus) I’m coming back to life-I’m feeling hope arise-Because of You only You Jesus-I’m leaving the rest behind-My heart is satisfied-Because of You only You Jesus — (bridge) In sickness depression and all anxieties-They have no power over me-Addiction and strongholds and ev’ry disease-They have no power over me…I’m coming back to life.

As I came back to the Psalm, I realized that the “Conductor” was standing over the Psalmist’s life, as He does over mine and yours, bringing all the different parts of our lives into a beautiful symphony requiring the ‘sound’ of life’s experiences as if they were various instruments. The Psalmist knew, as we know the different ‘sounds’ of life…the brassy melodies, the throb of the drums, the strumming of strings, the emotion of the woodwinds, the clash of cymbals…joy, sorrow, doubts, fears, confidence, peace, satisfaction, anger, frustration – each moment of our lives creating a unique ‘sound’ that the Conductor used in a perfect timing to create musical magic. He has made everything beautiful in its time…Ecclesiastes 3:11a  NIV

Be encouraged – He is in control of each note being played in the daily music of our lives…each distinct ‘sound’ that emanates from the good, the bad, and the ugly of life.
