Greetings to you in the name of the One who was – who is – who is to come, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! Wow – the second day of a new year and we have encountered one of those “this is the day that the Lord has made” days already – and God wants to know will we praise Him or not? I trust that you had a good Christmas and New Year’s Day – with family, friends, food, festivities and good health. I will be praying for you today, asking Father to pull back the curtain of 2019 and give you a quick glimpse of what He has in store for you…in doing so, I pray that He would release courage, awakening, settledness, and HOPE!
At the beginning of a new year I like to ‘re-orient’ myself in what God is doing and/or wants to do. I look at the direction of where my perception of ministry is going. I look at the different roles and obligations I find myself facing.I ask God what He wants…and hope He doesn’t get too creative and innovative in His plans. I need to know if things like this blog and Monday prayer gatherings are what He wants me to continue with. So…before I even started the process He began to speak to me through His Word – the Bible.
Let me share a verse or two He gave me this morning: Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love…Ephesians 1:4 The Message – And when God chooses someone and graciously imparts gifts to him (her), they are never rescinded… Romans 11:29:The Passion – Within your heart you can make plans for your future, but the Lord chooses the steps you take to get there – Proverbs 16:9 The Passion – Oh, how sweet the light of day, and how wonderful to live in the sunshine! Even if you live a long time, don’t take a single day for granted. Take delight in each light-filled hour… – Ecclesiastes 11: 7-8a The Message.
Now let me give you a quote that God sent my way: It is time, O my God, for a touch from You, one of those great transfiguring touches in which You stand out plainly and clearly from all else, brilliant moments in which I see You and worship and wonder – Oswald Chambers.
Now, I think that is enough for me to “ponder” about today. I have an idea…now that I have shared this with you – why not accept these words as coming from Him and yo “ponder” along with me…and we will see what God is trying to tell us?!?!
Have a ‘blessed day!’
