A Church with a Heart for our Community

January 10th Thursday

Greetings to you in the name of the One who loves us and gave His life for us, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a beautiful winter’s morning…finally! and the opportunity to have something new to talk about … snow, shovelling, cold temperatures, snow boots, winter driving….etc., etc., etc! However, it is still the day that God designed for us and I am sure we can find something to be thankful about.Today I will be praying for you, asking Father God to give you a nice warm God-hug and the opportunity to share your faith with someone today.

Last night was our first Bible study night of 2019 and it was good to be together. We got to sing the two songs that I have mentioned lately…”Praise the mighty name of Jesus” and “Keep Coming Holy Spirit” and we listened to a good teaching on the promise of God…”Death is swallowed up in victory.” I think we all left pondering some points stated in the teaching.

And this morning I am hanging on to a quote: You cannot have a positive life and a negative mind – Joyce Meyer, and it fits so well with the opportunity we were given to discover and chose a “word” to focus on as we venture into a new year. A few people shared the “word” that they felt God had given them, and we heard “words” like – ‘peace’ and ‘delight’ and ‘change’ and ‘gratitude’ and ‘courage’ and ‘settle’ and ‘hope’ and ‘love’ and ‘serve’ and ‘power’ … all good and positive words to focus on and allow to affect our daily life. If you haven’t done so already…why not ask God to give your a “word” to focus on as you begin 2019?

Have a grand day!
