A Church with a Heart for our Community

February 28th Tuesday

Greetings to you in the name of my friend, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour!  Happy ‘last day of February 2017’! – this is a day that the Lord has made for us, so let’s say thank you to God and enjoy it! I trust that you had an enjoyable weekend with many wonderful surprises and insights and adventures. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to allow you to experience his Presence around you in tangible way.

I want to share three insights that God sent my way. First, a definition of ‘grief’ from the London Free Press this past Saturday…Grief, I’ve learned, is really just love. It’s all the love you want to give but cannot. All of that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go. Love with just no place to go…Our grief is the price we pay for the privilege of having that person still present within us even when gone….Glen Pearson.

The second is again from the London Free Press this past Saturday, and it concerns our understanding of the Trinity…the point is not to get hung up on these names, but rather that Christians have experienced the one God acting in three distinct ways in biblical times and throughout history…the implication of this for Christians is that Jesus is bigger than the church and Christianity…Christians can find the face of Jesus the Christ in all things, not just the Bible, the church or even Christianity in general…Christians can therefore find Jesus in the whole world…Bruce Tallman.

The third is reminder that according to the story of the fishermen having ‘fished all night but they caught no fishes’  being told to let down their nets on the other side of the boat because Jesus knew where the fish were. In essence Jesus was saying that he knew what they were looking for and he knew exactly where they could get it. The implication here is that Jesus knows what we are looking for and exactly where to guide-direct us. Jesus says, if you’re looking for friendship, I know where it is. Jesus says, if you’re looking for acceptance, I know where that is. Jesus says, if you’re looking for meaning in life, I know where that is. Jesus sas, if you’re looking for healing, I know where that is. Jesus says, if you’re looking for significance, I know where that is. Jesus says, if you’re looking for security, I know where that is. Jesus says, if you’re looking for satisfaction, I know where that is. … Louie Giglio.

Okay, here is the challenge – let’s ponder this information for a day or two, allowing God to personalise a message to us. Have a great day…be blessed!
