A Church with a Heart for our Community

December 9th Wednesday

Greetings to you in the name of “The Reason For The Season”, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a beautiful December day…a little strange, so it is! I am sure that you are making good use of the weather and your time – so as I pray for you today, I will ask Father to release an extra dose of energy along with “peace and joy’ to share with others.

This morning I came across a quote that caught my attention: Words Have Power – so be careful how you use them. Of course, I understand that, especially in light of the Advent season we are in. One of my several hundred favourite verses in the Bible says: The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.  John 1:14 NIV and, as some of you know the Gospel of John begins with the powerful statement: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1 NIV. These statements take us right back to the beginning of the Bible and the process of creation where God “spoke” all things into creation, even the concept of creating you and I in His image. Indeed words have power.

Let me share a few more quotes and give you something to “chew on” through the day: We navigate our whole lives using words. Change and improve the words and I believe we can change and improve life…A word changes the meaning, the mood, and the motivation within an encounter…Be sure to taste your words before you spit them out…When your(God) words came, I ate them; they were my joy and heart’s delight – Jeremiah 15:16…I have hidden your word in my heart – Psalm 119:11a…Sing them over again to me, wonderful words of life—Sometimes it is not the song or the words that makes you emotional–it’s the people and things that come to your mind when your hear it…Be careful with your words, they can be forgiven, but never forgotten.

Words have power! Your words have power – today! Be blessed!
