A Church with a Heart for our Community

December 6th Thursday

Greetings to you in the name of One who came to set His people free,Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! It looks like another lovely day in the Kingdom coming our way. I can anticipate that under a picture of this morning, there is a caption that reads: “This day is sponsored by the God who creates, and sustains with intricate power and unlimited imagination.” Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to release healing and strength and purpose.

I want to give you this verse of Scripture: Do not yield to fear, for I am always near. Never turn your gaze from me, for I am your faithful God. I will infuse you with my strength and help you in every situation. I will hold you firmly with my victorious right hand.  –  Isaiah 41:40  TPT. According to a computer website called – YouVersion – this has been the most read Bible verse of the 2018 year. In 2017 the most widely read Bible verse, on a global basis, was Joshua 1:9  and in the USA it was Romans 8:28. What was your most often read Bible verse? …or as the old song says – “Standing, oh yes I’m standing – Standing on the promises of God” – Ralph Kelso Carter  –  what ‘promise’ are you standing on today?

This morning my verse to stand on is John 1:14 – The Word became flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld his glory, the glory of the only begotten Son of God full of grace and truth … and I tie that to Isaiah 7:14 – He shall be called Immanuel, God is with us. The song writer describes it this way… He meets you where you are-He holds your heavy heart-Our God is with us all-Emmanuel …So if we’re feeling lost in our own lives-We are not alone-He has felt the same things… Hannah Kerr.

I think that it is really important that as our day begins, and before too much reality comes flying at us – we decide what promise we are going to stand on or what word or idea . Again the song says…Standing on the promises that cannot fail-When the howling storms o doubt assail-By the living Word of God I shall prevail-Standing on the promises of God!

Be blessed this day and stand firm!
