A Church with a Heart for our Community

December 2nd Friday

Greetings to you in the name of the’One and only’ Saviour of the world, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a delightful and seasonable morning in the Kingdom – let us enjoy it. I trust that you have had a grand week of health – strength – happiness in your hearts. I am hoping that you are excited about gathering with your church family to worship and pray and fellowship. I will be praying for you today, asking Father to surround you security and peace and confidence…in who He is.

In case you don’t know this … I love the church and I believe in the mission of the church and I have hope in the future of the church. The church is beautiful and winsome and and attractive. The church is awkward and weird and oft-times imperfect. The church is a work in progress, under the constant attention of Jesus Christ. The church is the vehicle that God has chosen to impact the world…and He promised that even the gates of hell could not-would not thwart it.

Let me give you a quote: God can show Himself as He really is only to real men. And that means not simply men who are individually good but to men who are united together in a body, loving one another, helping one another, showing Him to one another. For that is what God meant for humanity to be like; like players in one band, or organs in one body. Consequently the only really adequate instrument for learning about God is the whole Christian community, waiting for Him together. Christian brotherhood is, so to speak, the technical equipment for this science – the laboratory outfit.  C.S. Lewis.

I believe in the church…and I believe in you and I worshipping together in a community that is unique and vital. The more we relate to each other, the more we relate to God. The more we know, love, accept, and believe in each other, the more we know, love, accept, and believe in God.

Be blessed – have a great weekend!
