A Church with a Heart for our Community

December 20th Thursday

Greetings to you in the name of “the Father of Eternity”, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour. Well! – it is another” one of those – “this is the day that the Lord has made” days! – and the only way to deal with it is to “thank God for it” and live it out as a blessed day. I will be praying for you today, asking Father to release a spirit of healing and restoration and blessed forgetfulness to you.

Over the past almost two months part of my morning devotions has been a book entitled: “Throne Room Prayer” by Brian Simmons. I have been through it twice now and probably will go through it another time or two as there are ideas and concepts dealt with that I have not seen or heard anywhere else. The thought of praying along side Jesus in the throne room of heaven is empowering…and humbling.

This morning, I also came across two verses in my Bible reading that I want to share with you: So he (Jesus) is able to save fully from now throughout eternity, everyone who comes  to God through him, because he lives to pray continually for them. He is the High Priest who perfectly fits our need–holy, without a trace of evil, without the ability to deceive, incapable of sin, and exalted beyond the heavens! … Hebrews 7:25 – 26  TPT. Now that is one awesome prayer-partner.

I have learned a few things about the qualities of throne room prayer…First, it is done in the resurrection authority of Jesus Christ – second, it ‘feels’ the touch of the Father’s hand – third, it is birthed in a place that is far above the turmoil and trouble – and, fourth, it flows from the revelation of the headship of Jesus.

Somehow when we understand and begin to initiate that idea in our personal prayer time, we are changed, and so is our prayer life. After all when Jesus is your prayer partner and the throne room becomes your place of prayer…life does get a bit interesting.

Something to think about —  have a blessed day!
