A Church with a Heart for our Community

December 13th Thursday

Greetings in the name of the “the Mighty God” Isaiah 9:6, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! Another one of “those days” – so we continue to rejoice and be glad in it! I trust that you had a good evening! I want to say “thank you!” to those who took the time to respond to my request yesterday in an affirmative way…to quote the line from a recent song…”I can hear the chains falling!” Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to encourage you in your journey with Him and to surprise you with unexpected opportunities to share your faith – remember that the instructions say, “be ready at all times to share the reason for the hope and faith you have!”

This week at our prayer gathering reports came from individuals of  people coming to faith in Christ over the weekend and others asking for prayer and of at least one person having a significant breakthrough in their life…and we gave thanks for that. I was reminded of the old song – There shall be showers of blessing-Showers of blessing indeed-Mercy drops round us are falling-But for the showers we plead! The reports that we heard were “mercy drops” – God working in lives around us in response to prayer … and so we need to keep on praying! God’s own words on the matter are…“…the realm of heaven’s kingdom is bursting forth, and passionate people have taken hold of its power.  Matthew 11:12b TPT.

I am believing that it is time for passionate praying on our behalf…and it is done knowing that God is “watching and waiting” for us. His Word says: “…I have watched over you and have seen what has been done to you…” – Exodus 3:16  NIV — “the LORD your God has blessed you in all of the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey…forty years the LORD your God has been with you and you have not lacked anything.” – Deuteronomy 2:7  NIV — “…Christ Jesus, who died–more than that, who was raised to life–is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.” – Romans 8:34 NIV.

And when passionate prayer is joined with passionate praise…“…they raised their voices in praise to the LORD and sang: “He is good: his love endures forever.” ” Then the temple of the LORD was filled with a cloud…for the glory of the LORD filled the temple of God.” – 2 Chronicles 5:13,14  NIV.

Who is ready for passionate prayer and passionate praise? Who is ready to experience the glory of God?  — I want you to meditate on that as we head towards Sunday worship. Be blessed!
