A Church with a Heart for our Community

August 2nd Wednesday

Greetings to you in the name of the One who is called the Great Physician, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Savior! What a lovely late summer morning in the Kingdom…this must be the day that the Lord has made, so we will rejoice and be glad in it. This morning I will be praying for you, asking Father God to release joy unspeakable and full of glory to you…may He mix in a generous supply of peace…may you receive a full measure of grace – amazing grace…and may hope be the lifter of your head.

This morning I want to share a couple of verses of Scripture with you, but before I do that – here is a simple exercise:

Take a minute to unwind. Look for an enjoyable place and position that will allow you to relax. Now, focus on your time with God. Allow your mind to think about and be drawn to the throne of the Lord and to be filled with His Word.

“And now, O Lord, hear their threats, and give us, your servants, great boldness in preaching your word. Stretch out your hand with healing power; may miraculous signs and wonders be done through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” (Acts 4:29-30 NLT). As you read this remember, Saint Francis of Assisi sent out his students into the streets of Assisi with these words: “Preach the Gospel everywhere you go and if you have to…use words!”

Now I give you these thoughts to ponder about our God: “when something is wrong, He can right it – when something is broken, He can mend it – when something is lost, He can find it – when something doesn’t work, He can fix it – when something is hurt, He can heal it – my failures, sins, mistakes, and shortcomings–and yours–in no way dilute or deplete or weaken or harm God!” Anne Graham Lotz, ‘The Joy of My Heart’.

Stand in awe of Him and be blessed!
