A Church with a Heart for our Community

August 1st Tuesday

Greetings to you in the beautiful, wonderful, and powerful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Savior, the One who gives us access to the Father’s presence! Even before I start this day, I want to declare that “this is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it!” I trust that you have had a good weekend and Monday…that you have received God’s blessings, experienced a few divine surprises , had a prayer answered, and are ready for a new week. I will be praying for you, asking Father to open your eyes-your ears-your heart-your imagination. His Word says: “The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. (Psalm 19:7 NIV).

So, here we are at the start of a new month…now stop for a moment and consider your journey up to this point, I know that for many the past days, weeks, and months have been challenging, so I would suggest as we begin a new month, a new season that we allow God to refresh, revive, and restore. In order to do this, I want to declare one of the promises Jesus made to us and that we make it a part of our daily spiritual disciplines. Here is the promise: “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me–watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” (Matthew 11:28-30 The Message).

Now before we “do” anything…purposely take time to “be” with the Lord in whatever manner is comfortable to you – alone, with someone, quietly, singing, praying, reading the Bible or a devotion book, journaling, doing crafts, walking, sitting with a cup of coffee…whatever suits you at that moment. Simply “be” in His presence and wait, for He has promised that if we would draw close to him, He would draw close to us. (James 4:8). For the next few days let us seek His face without any agenda or expectations. I believe that He will refresh and restore and revive. I believe He wants to surprise us!

Blessing on you!
