A Church with a Heart for our Community

August 19th Friday

Greetings to you in the Name that has been given to us to be all and do all that God desires from us, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! I trust that you have had a really good week with many moments to remember and savour as you share with your church family this weekend. I will be praying for you today, asking Father to surround you with an awareness of your spiritual strength and power and energy.

Today I want to share three passages of scripture with you and follow the directions they give.

First: “…be filled with the Spirit. Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Submit to one another.”  Ephesians 5:18b-21 NIV.  Let me encourage you with words from a song called – Fight For Me by Dustin Smith: Every fear bows at your feet…when You come, when You come. when You come – Every sickness has to leave…when You come, when You come, when You come – Every healing is complete…when You come, when You come, when You come – Every dead man starts to breathe…when You come, when You come, when you come.”

Second: “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”  Colossians 3:15 – 17  NIV. Let me encourage you with these words from a song called – Break Every Chain by Will Reagan: There is power in the name of Jesus – There is power in the name of Jesus – There is power in the name of Jesus – To break every chain, to break every chain, to break every chain.”

Third: The man from whom the demons had gone out begged to go with him, but Jesus sent him away saying, “Return home and tell how much God has done for you.” So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him. Luke 8:38 – 39  NIV. Let me remind you of our responsibility with the words of a familiar song – It Is No Secret by Jim Reeves: “It is no secret what God can do – What He’s done for others – He’ll do for you – With arms wide open – He’ll welcome you – It is no secret what God can do.”

Have a great weekend…be blessed!
