A Church with a Heart for our Community

August 12th Friday

Greetings to you in the name of the One who speaks to us as our Shepherd, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! Another very warm morning in the Kingdom to enjoy and employ for doing good to those God send into today’s story. I trust that you have had a blessed week and many adventures that revealed God’s presence in your life. I pray that you are looking forward with expectation to gathering with your church family to celebrate. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to release a healing touch on all ares of you!

God likes to use a variety of methods to speak to us: to encourage, to challenge, to teach, and to correct. This morning He used ‘technology’…and in specifics He used a ‘mistake’ to communicate with me. I receive a weekly email from a Christian music site that offers a free download on a song and it usually comes with lyrics and a chord chart. So I get the song download and I listen to it…I like it so I download the lyrics/chord chart. However the lyrics/chord chart do not match the song…something happened in computer land, a ‘mistake’ was obviously made by someone. I was a little annoyed because I wanted the lyrics so I could sing, well that is what I call it, along. Up to this point I had not paid any attention to the lyrics that did arrive, I just knew they weren’t what I expected.

So I looked at the lyrics to a song called – You Are In Control: This is the day that You’ve made-Father God, have Your way; You are in control-This day is a gift that You gave-We believe when You say You are in control-You know ev’ry moment ev’ry dream, ev’rything concerning me-And ev’ry promise, ev’ry word, all is working for my good-And oh, oh, You are in control: oh, never letting go-Oh, what can keep Your love away from me?-Oh, You are in control, oh, the universe is Yours-And by Your Word You hold it all together — Seth & Nirva. God, I believe wanted me to know that He is even in control of ‘mistakes’ – He is in control!

Then I turned to my devotional reading and read: There is a great mystery in the sovereign purposes of God and the particular outworking of these purposes…Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones. God is in control yet not controlling. I don’t really know why He wanted to tell me that or why He felt that I should share it with you – but there is always purpose to His dealings with us.

Something to ponder – have a great weekend – be blessed!
