A Church with a Heart for our Community

April 25th Thursday

Greetings to you in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! Another lovely and ‘cool’ Spring morning…but the grass is getting greener and more plentiful, there is a good display of Spring flowers, children are out playing, folk are doing lawn and yardwork, and I even saw…heard a lawnmower being pushed around. God is so good! This morning I will be praying for you, asking Father to do the necessary “spring cleaning” in you and to release the wind of the Spirit to blow away the dust…may be even ‘blow you away!’ Oh! by the way…it is only – only eight months until Christmas 2019.

I don’t know what happened yesterday…I put together the blog and I think I followed the procedure…check the spelling and grammar, hit the “save’ tab, then hit the “publish tab”, and then “log out” …then moved on without further concern. However in the twilight zone of “blogdom” something happened and the blog vanished into ??? without a trace – perhaps human error?!?!  – so I am trying again.

I wanted to share a grouping of Bible verses that challenged me to refocus after the swirl of thoughts and music and activities of Easter…and this is the first “low Sunday” of 2019 coming our way.

The LORD said to Moses, “Tell Aaron and his sons  [the ministry team of that day], ‘This is how you are to bless the Israelies [the congregation]. Say to them: “The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; and the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.” ‘ “so they will put my name on the Israelites and I will bless them.”  – Numbers 6:22-27 NIV.

“…if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever My eyes and my heart will always be there. – 2 Chronicles 7:14-16 NIV.

Lord, when you said to me “Seek my face,” my inner being responded, “I’m seeking your face with all my heart.” – Psalm 27:8  TPT.

I find the progression of thought so interesting…First, the message to the clergy…seek my face and favour: Second, the message to the corporate body; Third, the message to the individual “seek His face and His favour” in order to find the shelter of His keeping power, His kindness, His peace, His presence, His forgiveness, His restoration, His healing, His love, His attentiveness…

How do we respond: “open our eyes Lord, we want to see Jesus” … “turn your eyes upon Jesus” … “O disclose thy lovely face, Quicken all my drooping powers, Gasps fainting soul for grace, As a thirsty land for showers”  –  I am praying that for the next few weeks there would be a hunger and thirst for a glimpse of God’s face upon our lives…that we would catch a glimpse of the Risen Christ.

Something to reflect upon…be blessed!
