A Church with a Heart for our Community

April 14th Tuesday

Greetings to you in the beautiful wonderful, and powerful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a morning to be able to declare that “This is the day that the Lord has made! Let us rejoice and be glad as we journey through it!” I trust that you a good Easter weekend and re-experienced all the emotions and perhaps encountered new insights and in the process found yourself being drawn closer to God. This morning I will be praying for you, asking Father to release healing, an extra measure of well-being, and the companionship of the Holy Spirit.

What were the highlights of your Easter 2020? I am pretty sure that there were many things that you feel were missing…especially being together but what touched your heart or made you think or brought the joy of the Lord? As I ask you that, I ask myself. First, I watched the live broadcast from our parliament in Ottawa and I heard our Prime Minister and then the Leader of the Opposition share their Easter greeting remark. It was so refreshing to hear the Easter story shared with simplicity from the governmental heart of our country.

Second, to share Easter Sunday morning worship with my wife as we watched a ‘streamed’ event from Houston, Texas, The music was powerful and the visual backgrounds were so well-done. There was a presentation of declarations and prayers from four different people and two testimonies from special guests. Then a powerful presentation of God’s Word by the preacher. All in all…a gift from God.

Third, I listened to a musical presentation by Andrea Bocelli from the Duomo in Milan, Italy. The music was beautifully presented and very moving. The location, inside the cathedral was inspiring and so magnificent…another gift from God. Finally, to have contact by phone and by email and by ‘sidewalk to porch’ personal visits was so encouraging…more of God’s gifts.

However, underneath all of these blessings was the awareness that I am a recipient of salvation that gives me a hope…a ‘living hope’ and strength to face these unpredictable days. God is so good!

Have a great day … be blessed!
