Greetings to you in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a lovely, late summer morning in the Kingdom…even though the weather forecast is not exciting! We simply need to remind ourselves that this is the day that God created for us, so that we might rejoice and give thanks. I trust that you had a blessed weekend and Monday–and are ready for a week of adventures and challenges. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to release a Holy Spirit “filling” for your spiritual fuel tank. I will be sending you a ‘link’ to a website that has a beautiful prayer for Canada on it, so that we can pray for our country with more insight.
Yesterday was our Monday noon-hour prayer gathering and although the attendance was a little sparse – strong and positive prayers were released for our city and county. There were five different congregations represented and more than half of those attending have been meeting each Monday for the last twelve years. We have been praying for the agricultural community, economic recovery, spiritual revival, integrity within the various levels of government, for the various people helping agencies, police, firefighters, educational, emergency responders,, and for all that we interact with. I would tell you that God has been answering those prayers in a multitude of ways. We have also prayed for special concerns around our world as events and disasters and tragedies arise.
Sometimes it seems that the needs are so great for such a small group of “pray-ers” but when we join with each other in the presence of God…this little group of saints is always the majority! There are two or three biblical mandates for us: The blessing that rests on the righteous releases strength and favor to the entire city … the blessing of favor resting upon the righteous influences a city to lift it higher … those who live to bless others will have blessings heaped upon them, and the one who pours out his life to pour out blessings will be saturated with favor. – Proverbs 11:10, 11, 25 TPT.
And, there is a biblical insight as how to pray for such a vast array of concerns: At each and every sunrise (or ‘Monday noon-hour’) you will hear my [‘our’] voice as I [we] prepare my [our] sacrifice of prayer to you. Every morning [Monday noon-hour]I [we] lay out the pieces of my life [our concerns] on the altar and wait for your fire to fall upon my [our] heart. Psalm 5:3 TPT.
This morning as I reflect upon twelve years of prayer gatherings – my heart is full of thanks for those who have made and are making the journey significant…a one hour investment of unretrievable time that has a profound effect on peole and a community who are not even aware. Well-done intercessors!
Have a great day!
