Greetings to you in the name of the One who walkers on water and commands the wind, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! I trust that you had a great weekend and Monday – enjoying all the evidences of God’s love and activity in your life. This is another one of those days when we simply smile and declare: “This, too, is the day that God has made for us!” Today I will be praying for you, asking Father God to bring a new level of healing and wholeness to your life.
Yesterday was our Monday prayer gathering – “The Cry” and although the weather affected attendance…it didn’t interfere with the atmosphere in the sanctuary. I believe that we are sensing a ‘something is happening’ and we are anxious and hungry and thirsty. I left the time of prayer and thanked God for the minutes of connecting with emotional energy.
With the reality of those minutes swirling around, I went to visit a man who is very much aware that his days are numbered. He told me is not scared in what is happening as he knows that there is a “new adventure” awaiting him. We had some good conversation, I read Scripture and prayed with him, and as I departed, I knew that I had been on holy ground…and I thanked God for those precious moments.
Driving home, I was thinking that this being the week before Thanksgiving and that we are doing a “Thanksgiving Journal Page” as part of our spiritual preparation. It is relatively easy to find things to be thankful for…all the usual people, things, health, etc. … but I tried to focus on the not so obvious, ordinary blessings that I take for granted. So I thanked good for – emotional energy like that that was in the prayer time, and precious moments on holy ground with a man I had not met until I walked into his room.
This continued when I arrived home and I thanked God for my internet connection and paper clips that were on my desk to use and the electricity that was there to make a cup of tea and for words that communicated what was happening in our home. I wonder how much we would be thankful if we paid a little more attention to our life experiences. So I challenge you and I today…find seven reasons to thank God that you have never thanked Him for before.
Have a blessed day …. be purposefully “thankful!”
