A Church with a Heart for our Community

November 1st Wednesday

Greetings to you in the name of the One at whose feet every knee shall bow and every tongue confess His majesty and Lordship, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! On this rather cool, quiet morning in the Kingdom…Happy November 1st! Another new month with another thirty days to spend and enjoy…let us do so wisely. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to release a wave of blessing, peace, and hopefulness into your being.

I have been enjoying new music…and in particular, I know it sounds crazy, songs on Christmas albums and single cuts as well. There are two songs that have captured my attention and I printed the lyrics out so I could read and ponder and pray, The two songs complement each other and carry messages that don’t belong to just one season.

The first song is by a relatively new artist called, Zach Williams. He had a very popular song recently called – The Chain Breaker. His Christmas song is titled – The Call of Christmas, and a few lines from the song go like this: Hear the call of Christmas-All you lost and left behind-The lowly and those longing-With an emptiness inside-The forgotten and forsaken-I bring you good news-Hear the call of Christmas-The Saviour waits for you. It has a haunting sort of melody that seeps into your heart.

The second song is by a group called, Casting Crowns, and is called – Make Room. A few lines from this song go like this: You can come as you are-But it may set you apart-When you make room in your heart-And trade your dreams for His glory-….Is there room in your heart- For God to write His story. Once again the melody captures your thoughts and your heart.

I suppose you may have guessed but I am working on my Christmas preparations so I am sure that I will be listening to a few more Advent and Christmas selections…and I will take hope in the fact that “the Saviour is waiting for me” around every corner and in each situation. I will also make sure that I “make room for Him to write His story” in my heart.

Have a great day…let God speak to you through music!
