Greetings to you in the name of the One who declared that He is always with us in the present moment as the “I Am”, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour. Another late autumn December morning, cold and grey, but created, designed, shaped, prepared just for us. The challenge is – what will we do with it and how will it be accepted? Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to give you hope and understanding in the midst of all that doesn’t seem to make sense.
I have been reflecting over some of the things I have learned in the last 24 hours from insights, divine appointments, and God-incidences. First, in a prayer meeting I heard someone praying for people who identify themselves as Christians, but don’t or won’t attend and/or participate in the life of a congregation. It was acknowledged that were many reasons but one that was highlighted was those who had been hurt by words or actions or misunderstandings — both intentionally and unintentionally. One of the petition for these folk was asking God to forgive them for robbing Him and the church family of the gifts, grace, and glory. This is making me think.
Second, at our ‘Connections’ meeting we are watching dvd’s from Joyce Meyer’s teaching – The Battlefield of the Mind – and there are always practical, too practical at times, teachings, to ponder. Last night she was commenting on Joshua 1:1 were God says to Joshua…’Moses is dead’ – and the intent of that was, ‘Joshua, this is your moment to be the person you are supposed to be.’ Then came the statement – ‘there is always a moment in your life when the time is right–and if you miss it, it may not come back.’ I have been paying attention to the words – ‘moment’ and ‘timing’ lately so I am thinking some more.
Finally, this morning I came across another wording for one of my favourite Bible verses…well one of my top 50 or 60. In the God’s Word Translation – Psalm 46:10 says: Let go of your concerns. Then you will know that I am God. I rule the nations. I rule the earth. Of course, we never really know the fullness of who God is and what He can do until we stop trying to be in charge. There is a line in a hymn that says: ‘But we never can prove the delights of his love until all on the altar we lay – For the favour he shows and the grace he bestows are for those who will trust and obey. So three things for me to think about while I am looking for what God wants me to learn today.
Have a great day…be blessed!
