A Church with a Heart for our Community

October 21st Friday

Greetings to you in the name of “the Conquering Son of God”, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a ‘damp’ day to celebrate the end of autumn’s first month…and yes, this is the day that God has made for us to rejoice and be glad! I trust that you have had a good week and enjoyed all that God brought your way. I will be praying for you today, asking Father to surround you with the strength and serenity of His presence.

As you know this is one of my favourite days of the week – Friday…and it is new release day for music! I have already listened to several ‘sample track-cuts’ and especially from Christmas albums. There are good offerings from my usual performers and from a few new ones as well. So, I would say that this is a very blessed day!

However this day means that our time of corporate worship is coming and I am looking forward to joining with the church family in the presence of God. I am wondering what this week will bring – where will God interject His presence in particular ways, what song will draw Him close, what prayer will touch His heart, what testimony will make Him smile, what expressed or unexpressed need will be met, and what word or thought will He ignite with a spiritual anointing? Will this be the weekend that He breaks through our reservations and worries and reluctance and refusals? Will this be the time when He heals bodies, minds, spirits, relationships, or hopes in undeniable ways?

This morning, I am holding onto these words: If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.  2 Chronicles 7:14 – 16 NIV.

May this be a ‘good’ day for you – and may this weekend be a moment in God’s timing for you!
